E-mail is very efficient these days but it is still better to give us a call and have a chat. We will try to answer any questions and concerns you have about surveys, repairs to craft or technical advice. If you would like to send me an e-mail use this link or this contact form
Try to have as much information to hand when you call including all details relevant to the craft. We can give you a free quote for insurance and structural surveys over the phone with written confirmation the next day.
We will need to know the type and class of vessel, hull material i.e. GRP, aluminium, timber, steel, cement etc., overall length, beam, location of vessel, whether the vessel is out of the water or not, the type of survey required and the date required by.
Repair estimates and survey cost
We can often give an estimate for repairs over the phone if your description is accurate enough. But we may need to see the job to give a definite quote. If you wish you can send us details by Email including photos where appropriate. We will respond as soon as possible. If you do not have access to your own computer please use the form on the adjacent page. Include as many details as you can, and a time of day that is best to contact you. Class of vessel/length/material and location for survey cost.
Technical advice
If you would like advice on a particular problem just give us a call or again complete the form on the adjacent page, I will be happy to make suggestions about what can be done.

A lifetime around boats
I have been a professional marine surveyor for 25 plus years.
I am an appointed MCA surveyor working on behalf of SCMS which services the fishing community.
A working career with boats and yachts
My background comes from mechanical engineering and vehicle refinishing.
Early 70s I gained experience designing and building the GRP Magician class sailing dinghy.
This was a one-off design that was built to compete with the Mirror dinghy.
This led to a greater understanding of GRP as a material, and has proved a great advantage in assessing modern boat building methods, and the pitfalls of poor design and building controls.
